My walk as a witch began very early on in my life although Witch was not the term I would have used openly at the time. A witch was fantastical and imaginary even though deep within me the term held a profound resonance every time it was spoken and when I would watch movies and research history, I was always seeking the magic over mundane. I was connected to nature in the elements and the animals around me I love to explore on country I love to listen to the wind and feel the softness of the feathers on my skin. I remember everything as a child feeling so much more magical and holding so much more depth than I could possibly comprehend to this day as I was also keenly attuned to the unseen realms beyond the veil. I was knowingly seeing sensing the presence of energies and spirits and never convinced of suggestions that it was ‘just my imagination’. I was actively connecting and communicating with them and they with me and it was in this exposure to spirits and energy where my true calling to pursue the craft began as I grew older.
By the time I was 6 I already started to experience negative encounters with entities which were not of this world nor were they human. These entities and spirits would visit and, not to be dramatic but quite literally, torment me as the years passed and it wasn't until I reached the age of 13 where I started to tap into the power of the craft for my own personal energetic protection. My research into the occult, witchcraft and all things paranormal really took off. This was a walk which I took alone as the spiritual elders within my community were not willing to help me understand my abilities or the interactions I was having with these negative entities. Their reasoning was that I was a child, and I should not be dabbling in these realms, but alas I was already in the thick of it… So, what do you do when the denizens of the unseen realms start messing with you? You learn witchcraft of course.
My journey into witchcraft did not begin in the typical new age fashion as many are exposed to today when setting out on their spiritual paths. I hadn't even touched a crystal until I was much older; instead, I was drawn to elements of the earth such as rocks, stone, sticks, feathers, dirt, water, wind & fire. I taught myself cartomancy using a deck of playing cards with no books or guides just simply following my intuition. Then I evolved to begin reading the tarot after purchasing for myself a rider Waite deck. I crafted myself a Pendulum board out of a canvas and some oil pastels and began using items that beloved peoples throughout my life had gifted me as a means of throwing bones, assigning them divinatory meaning. I learned to hone my intuitive and medium ship skills although I've never classed myself as a psychic more as an intuitive witch who connected deeply with the earth and its creatures as guides for my path. I have always been attuned to the unseen, it has remained a constant in my life, to look up to the moon and talk to her as if she was my beloved aunt in the sky. I knew the fires of my ancestors paved the way for me to tread, and this knowing was surely reignited after the birth of my daughter in 2018.
The initiation of motherhood is quite like no other, I had gone out into the world and achieved the societal feats of successfully graduating from university and starting a career, but the birth of my daughter called me back to this aspect of myself that had laid dormant. It was as if an explosion of colour and magic which had been locked away in my heart now flowed freely, I channelled this into art and learned the sacred ways of ritual tool creation, most notably, the Ritual Rattle. Since then, I have fully devoted myself to this path of magic & spiritual inquiry so much so that I left my budding career path to begin this as a business of my own whilst raising my children, each one initiating me further into my walk. This walk, lead me to birth Walk of the Witch, and the energy of this container was inspired by a pride in sharing all that I have learnt whilst also wanting to be of service to those who may be in the same predicament as 13 year old me was, feeling called but having no support or guidance to help determine where on the path they should start.~
